New State Pension of £155 per week
15 Jan 2016

New State Pension of £155 per week

As of April the new State Pension will be £155.65 a week.

From 6 April, the current Basic State Pension and the State Second Pension (S2P) will be replaced by this new rate. If you reach  State Pension age on or before 5 April 2016, your State Pension will be based on the old system.

To find out your State Pension age you can use the following calculator: https://www.gov.uk/calculate-state-pension

It’s important to understand what your State Pension is likely to be. You will need to have paid (or have been credited) 35 years of National Insurance contributions in order to get the full amount.

If you are over the age of 55, you can find out how to get a State Pension forecast here: https://www.gov.uk/state-pension-statement
