From July 2010
If you were one of our employees on 1 July 2010, or you started with the company after that date, then you will have been able to join the BRSP (formerly called the Alliance Healthcare Retirement Savings Plan or AHBRSP for short). The AE Section started in February 2013 so if you chose not to join the main plan, you may have been enrolled into that scheme.
Before July 2010
If you were an employee before 1 July 2010, then you may have benefits in one of our legacy schemes, the two main ones being:
The Boots Pension Scheme (BPS)
This scheme closed, and benefit accrual stopped, on 30 June 2010. If you were a member then you may have deferred benefits in the BPS or be receiving payment of a pension.

The Alliance Unichem Group UK Pension Scheme
This scheme was also closed and the accrual of benefits stopped. In March 2011 pensions in payment and deferred benefits were transferred to an external insurance company, Pension Insurance Corporation (PIC). The scheme was then wound up in November 2011. Boots Stakeholder Pension Plan
This plan opened on 4 September 2001 and closed to new entrants from 7 April 2008. If you paid contributions for five years, you were then invited to join the Boots Pension Scheme (i.e., this stakeholder plan was a ‘feeder’ scheme). Boots 2006 Stakeholder Pension Plan
This plan started on 1 June 2006 and was open to any new employees from this date and existing employees on request. If you were a member of this plan, you were not eligible to join the Boots Pension Scheme.
